Sixteen years ago I shared a listening worksheet that I used with my piano students at the request of another teacher. It has to be one of the most boring worksheets I’ve ever created! I’ve had it on my to-do list for a while now to create a new one that I’m not embarrassed to give to my students, and now that it’s officially completed I’ve also added these two brand new Music Listening Worksheets to the Music Matters Blog store in the Free Music Teaching Resources section.
There are two versions; they have the same content, but one has a more playful design and the other is more sophisticated. I’m excited to use these with my students and am thinking I will probably try to incorporate them into our next practice incentive theme again because several students mentioned how much they enjoyed having the encouragement to actively listen to more music.
