The Story Orchestra: Four Seasons in One Day
The Story Orchestra: Four Seasons in One Day follows the story of Isabelle as she leaves her house in the morning with her puppy, Pickles, and they make their way to the Spring Festival. Sudden weather changes bring beating heat and rumbling storms, then quickly give way to autumn harvest. On their way home, winter arrives in a flurry of snow. Along the way ten selections from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons accompany these scene changes. The only mention of the composer or his work is on the first page, so other than that and a page in the back that lists each of the included movements with some additional notes, the reader doesn’t learn anything about the source of the music. It is a lovely backdrop to the colorful pages, though, much like a well-written soundtrack accompanies a movie script.
