The Story Orchestra: Carnival of the Animals

The Story Orchestra: Carnival of the Animals is presented against the backdrop of two brothers “who are very bored” and decide to occupy their time reading books about animals. A secret door behind the bookshelf clicks open and invites them into a world of lions and tortoises and elephants and more. The boys tumble and ride in and out of the pages and are greeted by excerpts of Saint-Saëns’ famous musical suite along the way. Unfortunately, the brothers exhibit undesirable behavior when they choose not to obey their mom in the beginning of the story and then conclude by lying to her about their adventures at the end. This could be a discussion point with young readers, who no doubt will enjoy listening to the ten delightful musical selections as they experience their own literary journey with this captivating book.
