The Music of Life documents the story of Bartolomeo Cristofori with gorgeous, colorful, and sometimes amusing illustrations by Marjorie Priceman. The header on each page is a dynamic marking that correlates with the story progression. Most pages also include a reference at the bottom with a date and location and a quote with the source of the information presented on that page. A helpful way of demonstrating the historical accuracy of the text without detracting from the storyline. I love the engaging voice the author uses while maintaining literary excellence and not speaking down to the reader. A worthwhile addition to the library of any pianist and piano teacher!
