New Beginner Piano Arrangement of O Come Little Children

November 4, 2022 by natalie Leave a Comment

Preparations for Christmas continue! I’ve been having fun putting together special arrangements of familiar Christmas songs for my students to learn this year. The latest project is a rendition of O Come, Little Children arranged for a young student in Piano Safari Level 1. He is doing so well learning to read music on the staff, so I wanted to give him a piece that he could read on his own, but would also capture some of the style of the rote pieces that he loves (Dandelion Fluff is one of his favorites!).

This arrangement of O Come, Little Children is written completely in the treble clef with the right hand primarily playing, but the left hand playing the middle C and crossing over to play the C above as well. As an added visual, I created a version with orange-colored notes for the left hand notes. Repeated patterns in the intro and ending sound sophisticated and make the piece easy to learn and play for any beginner level piano student!

You can watch the video below and I’ve added it to the Music Matters Blog store as a download for you to use with your beginner students.
