It’s hard to believe, but Christmas is just around the corner! Our studio enjoys participating in a local WinterFest arts fair at the beginning of December where students have the opportunity to provide background music for the hundreds of shoppers and vendors participating in the occasion. It’s a fabulous experience that is less intimidating than a formal recital.
Since I’ve started a handful of new students this year, I was searching for some pre-reading arrangements that would correspond well with the way they’ve been learning to play the piano in Piano Safari book 1. I couldn’t find quite what I was looking for, so I ended up writing my own arrangement of We Three Kings – a student favorite – with an accompanying teacher duet. In particular, I’m planning to give my Trio Class this arrangement, so we’ll see how that goes! I’ve added it to the Music Matters Blog store in case any of you are interested in giving it a try in your studios. Merry Christmas!
