Since we’re especially focusing on developing and improving rhythm skills with our practice incentive theme this year, I’ve been on the lookout for additional rhythm resources to add to our studio collection.
I recently came across the fabulous website of Ashley Danyew and love some of the resources she has available! She has a set of Free Rhythm Pattern Cards and also a blog post with a list of 36 Ways to Use Rhythm Pattern Cards in Your Teaching. The post includes categories for Aural Skills, Reading Skills, and Creativity, with links to game and activity ideas in each one (including another whole post on Tried and True Rhythm Games for Children’s Choir: Part II). I’m excited to continue exploring Ashley’s site and the wealth of ideas she has to share!
