Review and Giveaway of 100 Left Hand Patterns Every Piano Player Should Know

January 16, 2019 by natalie 40 Comments

One of the most valuable skills any pianist can learn is to play popular tunes by ear and easily play them with an appropriate accompaniment. If you’ve ever found yourself blank when trying to think of a new melody to play or out of ideas for a left hand accompaniment, this is the book for you! In 100 Left Hand Patterns Every Piano Player Should Know, Jerald has put together a fabulous compilation of fun tunes with so many left hand accompaniment patterns that you’ll never run out of ideas again. I’m grateful to have such a handy resource for both my students and myself!

Now, for the exciting part…Jerald has generously offered to giveaway 10 copies of the instantly downloadable and printable PDF version of his book ($9.95 value), 1 spiral bound hard copy of his book ($17.95 value), and 1 studio license of his book so you can print unlimited copies for your students ($59.95 value)! That’s right, there will be 12 winners! Just leave a comment below to be entered in this drawing. Twelve winners will be chosen using a random number generator at noon (CST) on Friday, January 25, 2019.

In the meantime, visit Jerald’s website at www.musicmotivation.com to learn more about this book and the many other resources he has created for piano teachers and students.

You can also check out this helpful video of Jerald demonstrating how to use the book:

I am looking forward to using Jerald Simon’s new book “100 Left Hand Patterns Every Piano Player Should Know”. It far exceeds other books I own on the subject because it is nicely presented in one book. I no longer need to reference several books on bass lines.

I own several books written by Mr. Simon and enjoy using them with my students. Take a look at his many hymns, cool songs and scale exercise books at http://www.MusicMotivation.com.

As a classical pianist who plays little jazz in the UK, more and more I am discovering a need to diversify and apply a more modern and improvisatory approach to teaching music to young people. It is imperative to capture pupils imagination from the get go and giving pupils immediate access to music-making does just that. I am hoping that this book will further my knowledge and give my lessons a fresh makeover this year. So excited and looking forward to it

Thanks, now I’ll be trying to figure out the 100 different patterns in my head for the rest of the day.

  37. Linda says

This looks like a great motivational resource to get new students and adults playing the piano right away with some of their favorite melodies. I would think it also might help develop finger independence with the left hand in a fun way while teaching a little theory possibly.

Oh my – discovered this just in time to be in with a chance! By the looks of things this book appears to be inspirational and very motivating (pretty much as stated on the tin so to speak).

Thank you, Gerald, for teaching these concepts so easily and in a manner that is immediately practical. I watched the video once and knew it was what I had been praying for to use with a couple of my students. The book’s lay-out sounds amazing and I plan to purchase it.

I watched Jerald’s video just the other day on YouTube and thought what a valuable resource it would be! Thank you for the time and effort that must have gone into putting this book together.
