A New Page of Reviews of Music Books for Kids!

February 8, 2025 by natalie Leave a Comment

In my planning for piano camps each summer I spend hours upon hours searching for music-related books for kids, trying to find just the right one to accompany each theme. Invariably, I ended up borrowing from the library books that I’ve borrowed before…and then forgotten. I perform all kinds of queries for “interactive children’s books” or “educational music books for kids” and pour through layers of search results trying to find any gems buried beneath the carefully laid barriers of SEO.

Somewhere along the way this year it occurred to me that perhaps it would be helpful to create a collection of reviews specifically of music-related picture books for kids – for both my own reference and as a resource for other teachers and parents looking for book recommendations for their kids. So I’m super excited to announce that Music Matters Blog now has a page dedicated to Reviews of Music Books for Kids!

I’ve started filling it up with some of my favorites already, but I’ll be adding to it regularly. If you have a suggestion of a favorite music book for kids (or even better, if you’ve written one!), please let me know and I’ll check it out. I’m always on the lookout for beautiful, well-written kids books and I still haven’t settled on one for this year’s piano camp, To Outer Space with Holst and His Planets, so I’d love to have any and all recommendations!
