Looking for Marketing Help for Your Piano Studio?

June 24, 2024 by natalie Leave a Comment

Sara Campbell, of the Savvy Music Studio, gave a fabulous presentation as part of the MTNA Webinar series this morning. If you’re a member, you can access the replay in the Webinar section of the website. You can also find her related article in the Business Resources section: 3 Steps to Building a Client-Centric Social Media Marketing Plan

The title of her presentation was Mindful Marketing: Finding Authenticity and Ease in the Modern Digital World. I love taking time over the summer to ponder various aspects of running a studio – both the business side and the teaching side, so I jotted down a handful of points for reflection:

  • First, and most importantly, you don’t have to dance on reels if you don’t want to. Haha! Such a relief!
  • Determine your ideal client and know how you can best serve them. To determine your ideal client consider your big “Whys” as a music teacher. Why did you start teaching music? What are your core values?
  • When utilizing social media, content creation should encompass these categories: Educate, Entertain, Empower.
  • Marketing is not just about attracting new students, but also staying connected with your current students and celebration their achievements.
  • Music lessons are not simply a transactional service; they are a transformational service. Emphasize this in your marketing.
  • Personalize your communication. Be authentic. Authenticity requires vulnerability.
  • Make sure all marketing is clear and ethical. Be honest and realistic about what students will experience and achieve. Don’t resort to scarcity, urgency, or deadlines that aren’t 100% true.

I thoroughly enjoyed Sara’s presentation style and am finding lots of helpful resources on her Savvy Music Studio website as well. If you’re looking to improve elements of your music studio business and teaching over the summer, I highly recommend checking it out!
