One of my new students this year absolutely loves animals. In fact, she’s been bringing various stuffed animals to her lesson to introduce me to them! For our upcoming cookout and piano recital this spring I’m planning to have all the students play some kind of ensemble piece with one or more other students. This particular student has also participated in the last several years of our Piano Expeditions piano camps, including To France with Saint-Saëns and His Carnival, so I knew she was familiar with the Carnival of the Animals music. In light of all that, I arranged a simple, pre-notation version of Tortoises that she and one of my older students can play together as a duet. Both of them were thrilled with it and in fact have already learned their parts, so now they just have three months to practice and perfect it! Lol!
All of the Carnival of the Animals music is fabulous, so I thought I would share this free piano arrangement here for anyone else who may want to play it as well.
