Thanks to a tip from Amy Chaplin in her Friday Finds #264, I was introduced to the Creative Piano Teacher website. The site is run by Olivia Ellis and Davis Dorrough and has a fabulous collection of colorful and well-designed free resources for piano teachers.
They have an entire section of Free Resources, and I particularly like their attractive composer infographic posters.
They have 20 in the collection currently, and I hope they will continue adding more!
They also have a page of YouTube video performances of various piano repertoire collections. What a wonderful treasure trove of resources for piano teachers!

Hi Natalie
I’m a mother (not a teacher) but feel compelled to comment on your teaching approach and the resources such as these that you utilise.
Our child studied piano from ages 6 through 10 and had some amazing, lovely teachers. Practicing for half an hour every day on top of homework eventually became too much for our child so, sadly, we stopped the lessons.
My cousin is a music teacher and said she needs to teach so the students have results/pass their exams as she is running a business after all. So, I do understand this approach. For students, though, music practice can be burdensome in an already academically stressful life.
Your approach of putting colour and fun into music lessons sounds as if it would energise and inspire the students. Looking back, I do wish we had looked for a less traditional approach such as yours to suit our child’s personality and situation rather than going the standard route.
All the best with your program and your students. And thank you for bringing fun to the music. ?
