Piano Expeditions Piano Camp – Day 4

July 23, 2021 by natalie Leave a Comment

Well, today was a wild and crazy day! Everyone had about 10x as much energy, so Stephanie and I had to work extra hard to keep everyone focused and in control. The positive side is that the students are having such a great time. One mom said that her son told her he wished he could come to piano camp for a month! Not sure I share that sentiment, but I appreciate the interest!

I remembered that these glow sticks were a favorite last year, so I saved them until today for our “Welcome to Piano Camp” song. Sure enough, even the student who has sat out the previous three days declared, “Today, I am doing this one!”

The students had fun trying to be the first to stand up or sit down depending on whether I correctly labeled the F-G-A-B keys for our Know-it! game today.

During our Discover-it! time we have fun exploring the globe and finding countries relevant to each day’s lesson. When I started today by asking if anyone remembered how many…one student interrupted and exclaimed, “7!” I praised him for remembering and then probed, “and what do we have seven of on the globe?” He proudly responded, “7 compliments!” Haha! “That’s right; 7 continents.” What a fun age!

They sure love pushing the buttons on the story book during our Read-it! time!

We concluded the day with a rousing game of F-G-A-B Running Bases, a huge hit with all the students!
