After long sessions of brainstorming, frequent prayers, multiple days of late-nighters, too many hours on the phone with tech support trying to resolve software issues, and I-won’t-say-how-many Klondike bars :-), our studio practice incentive theme for this fall is finally ready. It’s a super fun combination of two of my favorite things: sightreading and sightseeing!
WORLD OF WONDER: a sightseeing adventure
I know the right combination of ideas has finally come together when I find myself excited and eagerly anticipating the launch of the new year. A number of the principles of effective learning that I’ve learned about through my studies of Classical Education helped give me direction for how to organize this theme. It incorporates elements of the Trivium and the principle that repetition leads to mastery. I’m excited to see what my students think and if it serves the objective of equipping all of them to be proficient sightreaders by the end of the year. I’ll be sure to keep you posted (and if it’s a smashing success, then it should be ready for your studios early next summer!).
Hope your plans and preparations for a new school year are going well!

I bummed! This says sold out. Will it be available again soon?

Hi Meagan!
I’m just launching the theme this fall, so I typically use the theme with my studio for the year and then make it available to other teachers and studios the following summer. I have fourteen other themes available at this point that have been used and tweaked and then implemented by other studios, but if you’re really interested in this one, I do have most of the package complete and could probably work something out. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
