Bio

Natalie Wickham is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) and enjoys teaching students of all ages and levels in her independent piano studio in Derby, Kansas. She is a member of Music Teachers National Association, serves on the board of the Kansas Music Teachers Association, and is Past-President of the South Central Kansas Music Teachers Association and the Wichita Metropolitan Music Teachers Association.

She is founder of the popular MusicMattersBlog.com, a blog devoted to inspiring creativity in music education. Music Matters Blog currently receives over 80,000 visits a month and reaches music educators all over the world. She is recognized in the Wikipedia entry on Music Education Bloggers as one “of the greatest catalysts for getting others involved with blogging either as readers, participants, or bloggers themselves.” She also appears periodically as an “on air pundit” for the BAM Radio Educational Network.

As a homeschool graduate, Natalie is an advocate for creative and biblical approaches to education that integrate learning with real life. She completed advanced coursework at the International Academy of Music through a combination of short-term intensives and distance-learning. In 2002 she successfully completed Suzuki Book 1A and IB Teacher Training. Natalie is a member of the MusicLink Hall of Fame and is a strong advocate for reaching every child and equipping them to be leaders in their generation. She is a Certified Character Coach and has given presentations to the local school board and at the State Capitol in conjunction with a character education program that she spearheaded in her district. She currently serves as the director of Adventures in Character.

In addition to producing over a dozen music education resources, Natalie is the author of the book, Pajama School, co-author of the book, Born to Deliver, and producer of the CD, Journey to Self-Publishing. Natalie is passionate about helping others achieve success in life and enjoys presenting educational workshops for a variety of organizations and individuals. Her motivation and inspiration stem from her love for the Lord and a desire to see Him glorified in all of her teaching and business endeavors.
