This is very interesting blog! I love the things you can do with your kids, and one thing that came to mind is this website Karaoke Haven where you can play any music and sing to it, or record your own voice.

I think kids would love recording their voices and listening to themselves. They even have Ava Maria on it, a short sweet version of it. If you don't like the songs, you can request one, and they will provide you with it.

I'm just suggesting it as one more thing kids can do to have fun and develop. It is a great tool to sing with parent as well.

How wonderful that I've come across your blog. I'm a mother of 2 and have come to realize that my 4 year old is practically begging to learn more about music. I do what I can, but have no musical training. These tips are simple, yet I would never have come up with them on my own. I look forward to the activities and sharing such precious time with my kids as they learn about something they love! Thanks for reaching out.

This was just what i needed! My 4-year old daughter often catches bits and pieces of my lessons, and I've been wondering how to do "mini-lessons" with her. Thanks!

As an addition to your words of wisdom, I find that kids that are exposed to a variety of instruments (Orff, etc..) tend to do better in beginner piano lessons.
