Memories of Piano Camp 2008!
You can watch this video I put together last night to catch a glimpse of how our Olympic-themed Piano Camp turned out this week. It’s impossible to capture everything, but suffice it to say that we had a wonderful time!

Oh, Natalie, the video was wonderful, but you’ve GOT to give details about the great activities you did. What was the treble clef game that you had? How did you use the rhythm cards? Was that the Balloon Pop Polka they were playing? What exactally were they doing when they were doing the relay thing at the keyboard? I’d love to have details as soon as you have time!

Wow, this looks wonderful. I wouldn’t know how to deal with so many kids in one room. You must have a very big room for that.
Yes, I’d like to know details about all these activities. What were they doing?
Thanks.

This video was a blast!I watched it three times and wondered each time how you could be so busy with the actual activities and capture so much of it with your camera at the same time! I, too, would love to know what they were doing - from the opening with kids enthusiastically snapping fingers at the piano,to the colorful treble clef game, kids taking turns at piano while others wrote on clipboards (very intriguing!),ensemble playing - did they prepare music ahead of time? What were they painting? And all ages were together! I’ve had piano parties with all ages but never tried to do something with so much learning with such a span of ages.

Wow! What an amazing experience–watching the video with that exciting accompaniment! It captured the energy that surely was there–as we could see by the busy hands and happy faces, and even the complete collapse of one young student! Ha! What a standard you’ve raised in teaching that’s both good for and fun for the students! Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us. (And for your dedication to technology so you could do so in such a fantastic way!) You’ve energized us just as you did your students!!

I just watched the video again and this time the sound worked. What a difference music can make.

That is a cool video! I’m intrigued with all the neat things in your studio. Would you ever do a video just showing your studio? I’d like to see how you have it decorated. The kids looked like they had a blast. Could you elaborate on all the things you did? When did you do it- summer? Thanks- Lisa

Awesome! Awesome! I ditto all the comments and questions of the the other writers. The Treble Clef game looked interesting and perhaps one that you could adapt to any level. Tell us! Tells us!
