That's the way I teach the pentascales. We start with C and then I tell the student that in order to figure out which new scale to add each week, we're going to use what's called the Circle of Fifths. We count up to the 5th note of the previous scale to figure out which scale will be next. I don't have a very structured plan for written theory work - that's something I'm planning to improve this year! - but by the time students get to level 4 or 5 in our state Music Progressions evaluations, they have to know this information, so I try to make sure they've done some of these kinds of worksheets and other key signature worksheets by then.
