Scale and Chord Progress Chart

Several years ago, I developed this progress chart to include in each student’s practice journal so that we could easily track which chords and scales they had mastered at various tempi. Although I haven’t used the chart for a while now, I still get comments from other teachers who are using it successfully in their studios, so I thought I would post it here and make it available as a download. I may just have to pull it back out and start using it again!

Thank you for make this available – it gives me ideas to think about for my own chart and its requirements.

I’m a bit confused on the metronome settings–a quarter & an eighth note side by side, same tempo? What’s the difference between (two)eighths at MM-60 and a quarter at MM-120? (Perhaps two-eights & triplet rhythms.) I’m not sure how I would explain the layout/purpose to my students. Could you give me a little more information on your reasoning. Also, regarding chords, do you mean each chord and its respective inversions within each key? Thanks, Natalie!
